A long break-what a Princess gets up to!

Hi beautiful people,

I'm so sorry for being absent-but believe me, I have my reasons. Yet again, I was without a laptop, and I've been abroad, plus other things...well, I've been very busy recently. Which is the purpose of this post...which I'm writing whilst I am very, very tired, whilst my boyfriend is throwing darts and Mary Berry(my absolute heroine)is talking about her Absolute Favourites on the TV.

Well, firstly, the laptop broke...again. I am now using one that has been gifted to us(I love having amazing in-laws). And I have been using it to apply for jobs. I'm still waiting to her back...but I'm hopeful. I am also currently gaining experience-as a charity shop volunteer. Three afternoons a week, I go to my local market square and go to the charity shop I am assigned to on that day-Mondays and Fridays I work at The Children's Society shop, which I love, as my manager is amazing and also she is determined to get me trained for till work and on the shop floor(she already adores me), Wednesdays I go to Martin House Children's Hospice shop, where I work as a stock room girl!

Also, I mentioned in the introduction that I'd been abroad. Well, yes, I have-on a family holiday. My parents offered to take myself, my brother, plus my boyfriend and my brother's girlfriend all away to the beautiful country of Tunisia-and of course we all accepted! It truly is a beautiful country, despite all you'll of heard about the issues in Tunis recently. We were far away from the capital, and we were right on the coast. The hotel was beautiful, right on the beach, four star with the most lovely, genuine staff, who are some of the most lovely people I have ever had the good fortune of meeting! I also learned to belly dance whilst I was there from the lovely Zoya, who was part of the animation team. She was just a darling, and I will never forget how much she just seemed to light up the room every time she was there! I enjoyed every minute of being in that truly wonderful country and would happily go back-when it came to the end of the week, none of us wanted to leave!

Also, I can't talk about Tunisia without talking about the beautiful town of Sousse! And I mean it-it's truly stunning. We took a morning there, and I actually learnt to weave carpets whilst I was there-a lovely woman taught me! I also did at one point feel like I was walking around the set of the Disney film 'Aladdin', as the whole place was so old fashioned, and had an old market and long cobbled streets, just like Agrabah at the start of 'Aladdin'! The market was an experience too-a lot of fishy smells, which is something I really like as I love seafood!

I remember even on the Tuesday night at the hotel there was a marine theme in the restaurant with shelled prawns-I wasn't even going to dinner that night but my Mum tempted me down. I learned from my hotel in Ibiza back in 2007 how to shell prawns, and I've never forgotten. That night I taught my boyfriend to shell prawns too. The hotel itself was all inclusive, so you could have as much food and drink as you wanted. My particular favourites were the crepes I had with lemon and sugar at breakfast, the pasta and pizza I had every lunchtime, and I think the prawns I had for dinner that Tuesday night.

Also, cats lived on sight at the hotel-a male, a female and their baby kitten! We used to steal food in paper napkins for them-the kitten only looked about 4 weeks old and it was unbelievably cute. Every morning, after breakfast, I'd take my little bundle of turkey bacon pieces and chopped up sausage out into the pool area and the female would instantly recognise me and come running up to devour what I'd brought her. Also, I remember one day after lunch all I could hear was a cat crying-it had got stuck in a tree. A pool attendant near enough had to climb the tree and carry it down! It was quite a funny sight.

My souvenirs from my fantastic holiday and the two soft rugs in my flat-one amber/gold and another pink, and a silver bangle that is engraved with my name in Arabic, surrounded by flowers. I also have a Hand of Fatima necklace, which is an Arabic good luck symbol, and my main one is a turquoise blue Prada purse, which I adore!

Anyway, as I say, a Princess has a lot of duties to attend to!

Life updates-I've had a lot on!

Hi lovelies,

Sorry I have been out of the loop for so long...but I have been without a laptop so I do have my reasons. The thing is, I have also been very busy too. I have moved again since my last update...I'm now in a new flat with my other half(which I have some good news about...I'll explain in a little bit) and a close friend who has become my flatmate...and his partner pops around every weekend. With us both planning weddings, we get on very well, although we do have VERY different ideas.

So now I have my own place again, and I have to admit, living with my in-laws was not ideal. Eventually, we were just arguing all the time...it was actually really upsetting to us. Thankfully, things are getting better now...but things can be slightly fraught still.

Well, what's going on right now? Well, Hallowe'en was yesterday, but we didn't do anything. Today, however, is a big day. My partner and I been together for 5 years today-which is a big anniversary. I also got a lovely gift-a wicker heart with a little porcelain one hanging in the middle. He actually has gone to the effort to personalise it too-he has painted our initials on the heart, and put a big '5' in the middle and on the other side he sketched a beautiful rose and painted it-it is beautiful(and the rose is one of my favourite flowers). The wicker is symbolic-a 5 year wedding anniversary is wood, and although we aren't married, we are big on symbols. We are either going to hand it in our bedroom or the kitchen-it has a ribbon to hang it on.

Also, and this is probably one of the happiest things I am ever going to write-I am going to become an Auntie again. I already have one delightful little nephew, who is 3...and his mum is due to give birth to a little girl...tomorrow! They want to call her Harmony, but becoming an Auntie is just so exciting. I went slightly overboard buying baby clothes-they are really cute though! I sent them down earlier on this week and some gifts for my nephew, so I know she'll have them.

Coming up is Bonfire Night, and my birthday too. Actually, as a flat, we are going to a bonfire and firework display tomorrow which I am really looking forward to! I still don't quite know where it is, but luckily we are getting a taxi and my flatmate does so fortunately, it should be good fun.

Anyway, back to anniversary celebrations. Tonight, my fiance is cooking dinner, of homemade fish and chips with mangetout, which is one of my favourites. Also, we decided we wanted a bottle of wine with it-and proving I have the best other half ever, he went out to the local big supermarket and bought us something to drink(and some new wine glasses, as we were running out). Also, Strictly Come Dancing is on tonight, which is one of my favourite programs(I gave up on The X Factor a couple of years ago). This year I am supporting Frankie Bridge of The Saturdays, who is dancing with the very lovely Kevin Clifton(I share the fact of I come from Grimsby too). Also, they are dancing to the song 'Defying Gravity' tonight-which is a song from one of my top 3 favourite musicals, 'Wicked'.

Anyway, going to sign off now and spend time with my fiance.

I'm moving!

Hiya lovelies,

Well, I've been a busy girl recently. Lots of things have been happening, and the biggest news is...I'm moving house! Tomorrow(6th June in fact), I leave my little flat behind...for good!

I've been living in the same spot for 3 years and to be honest, I'm sick of it! The area I'm living in is rife for crime-lots of burglaries, and last year a police woman was shot barely 50 yards from my front door! It is an area full of students and so close to a city centre...not ideal really, especially for only a couple who live just with each other. When we moved here, it was a good idea initially as I was still at university, and my university was only 2 train stops away. My other half was working originally just out of the city centre(it took two buses in early morning), and then right in the heart of the city. What was great about this was the bus that goes from our flat stopped barely a hundred yards away from his work, and then the bus home went from just across the road. It couldn't have been any better really!

But I want out of here so badly. I am actually moving into my in-laws, whilst we work alongside the council trying to find us somewhere else. We use a website and bid for properties that come up-3 per week is the limit. Also we have 'priority' so luckily, we should have somewhere soon, but for the time being, we're staying with them. It should be okay though-where they live, there is lots to be done! Also, they are going away to France very soon, and my partner's younger brother(who still lives at home) is going away to Norway two days later(he seems to spend more time in Eastern Europe than he does in this country, as he is planning to move to the Czech Republic soon), so we will technically be house sitting! It's not ideal, as we won't have much privacy, but it's the best option we have! After an argument with my parent's at Easter which involved us as a couple, we can't stay there! And tenancy is up at the end of June...

I will say this will probably restrict my posting even though I know it's sporadic! But I will be going to some events in the coming months(I definitely have an engagement party next month, which I have already planned what I'm wearing for it)and will try and keep on top of my posts with such things. Also, soon, I do want to start talking about something I mentioned in a past post:my mental health. It might explain some things about me that you may find interesting. Also, it may help others talking about their own mental health.

But all in good time...

Kate Moss Rimmel Collection

Hi lovelies,

I have no idea how many times I have tried to write this post-but then again, circumstances get in the way...as always! I've had a lot going on recently-some good, some not so good, but I am determined to make things better for myself! I don't know how yet, but I will do it...eventually. But, whilst my boyfriend is asleep(he has a really unusual sleeping pattern right now), I thought I'd get a post written out and publish. My topic this time, is about a line Rimmel released a while ago, which is now branching out. The Kate Moss for Rimmel line, to be precise.

Kate Moss is one of the most famous supermodels in the world right now. But also, she is a very controversial woman due to her very chequered past. She has had problems with cocaine in the past, and her drug problems have got her in trouble with the police. Now, however, she is over that and is now working with Rimmel on her own make-up line!

It started with lipsticks. A range of glossy finish lipsticks in a range of colours, in black, sleek packaging with Kate's signature on it in red. Also, a matte range was released too-this time in red packaging with Kate's signature painted across the lid in black. I own 3 of Kate's lipsticks...a dark purple and a pearly pink from the glossy colours, and a very vibrant corally-red in the matte collection. I love the pink glossy one best-it's a brilliant everyday colour. I call it my 'your lips but better' colour. Wearing fresh, pink make-up does get me compliments when out and about-a waitress in my favourite restaurant said I looked beautiful when I wore that look recently.

Now, Kate's been busy. She now is releasing her eye range. Shadows, liners and mascaras. Most women(including myself) would consider mascara to be the essential in their make-up bag! I use Maybelline mascaras usually...but I'm willing to try out Kate's-because, although they have only just been released on the website, I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the shadow sticks in a local Superdrug!

I don't know how my Superdrug already had these, but they did-I just had to lay my hands on something when I was there! I got the Rose Gold shade stick-I wore it yesterday on my eyes(I've been mixing up my look recently, including my hair-the ends are now Ombre red). There are 3 other colours-Pure Turquoise, Electric Sapphire and Deep Amethyst. So they are all jewelled tones. My eyes are a weird blue/green colour, and gold tends to pull out the blue tones in my eyes. So, why not try a different shade?

I matched the rose gold eye colour with well defined black eyeliner and lengthening mascara, with a pink blush and my pink Kate lipstick and I loved the look. I had a medical appointment first, then on a spur-of-the-moment decision, went out for lunch. My partner had been at the hospital that morning and picked me up from my appointment afterwards(with a wheelchair because recently, I fractured my ankle). I was being complimented on how I looked from the lady treating me-she's lovely.

I am now intrigued to try her mascaras and gel eyeliners-I have high hopes, most definitely!

Anyway, that's my view on Kate's Rimmel range.

Fashion love-Backpacks!

Hi beauties,

I was recently at my parent's house, just spending quality time with them, whilst also spending time with some friends. One of these friends is my brother's girlfriend, who, surprisingly, I get on very well with-we are into a lot of the same things and she's a good influence on my brother. And she was carrying a gothic style backpack one day, on the way to his bedroom. In which instantly I asked her where she'd got it, as I loved it!

She recommended a shop in my hometown town centre, and I was off to town centre to get my Mum some Mother's Day presents that very afternoon. I called into the shop after picking up a pretty mug and card, and I chose a mug as my Mum loves a cup of tea. I looked and found one that I found absolutely adorable! I had to wait till I had money, and picked it up the following Friday. I was out shopping for clothes with my Mum-she bought me a complete outfit of a draping top, jeggings, nude ballet flats and a pair of sunglasses. Mum was actually the one who reminded me about the bag, using the words 'Do you want to get that bag?' I led her to the shop and found it instantly-my Mum thought it was cute!

My backpack is scarlet red, patterned with owls-which I am massive on right now. I have a blue Swanky Swans shoulder bag, passed on to me from my Mum, as it was too short for her, patterned with owls, and I love it. But backpacks have been huge in the fashion world recently! I wanted a backpack essentially for an easy way to carry things-I have muscular issues, so I need to find bags I can easily carry. And distributing the weight equally between my shoulders seemed like a good idea at the time. With mock brown leather straps and a leopard-print lining, it's quite a fashion-forward item. I love it-and it goes great with my new outfit. I took it out this morning on a quick jaunt into town, and it worked very well-I could also put my lunch in there and it was no where near full.

On the whole, if you find them cute-give backpacks a go! Most of the shops are stocking them, so it depends on your budget and what you're looking for, design wise! Mine was about £15 from an independent retailer, so not too pricey.

Much love,

Nail art-new purchase!

Hi beauties,

Well, I'm up at 20 to 3 on a Monday morning, which is annoying, but it happens sometimes! I should be curled up next to my partner fast asleep, but as it happens, I'm sat on my sofa with my earphones in, watching nail art tutorials. But I realised I don't have some of the tools required to do nail art, which is something I want to try more of. The main YouTuber I watch for nail art is the lovely MissJenFABULOUS, as she does a series called 'Nail Art for Beginners'-she does these once in a while-we're currently on the 11th video. But she uses a tool which I have been after for a while, but have never bought. Until now.

The tool is Dotting Tools. I see them used so many times, both with Jen's videos and another channel called CutePolish, which I love. But I wanted to try doing their designs but I need these tools, and I got some money in just after midnight this morning(as I do every Monday). I went online searching for Nail Dotting Tools, and found some on the website Nailtopia-www.nailtopia.co.uk -for a bargain price! The tools cost £4.99 for a set of 5, then postal price is £1.38, so all in all it cost me £7.65 for the set. I hope they come within the week(and they should, as it is first-class mail).I hope to just get some more exciting designs on my nails instead of just one colour with some glitter, which is my general look for my nails.

My only issue is, I've always had really brittle nails. It has got better as I have got older(maybe I upped my calcium levels enough to strengthen them)but my nails do still split, as they often bend and then tear off-it hurts. So I have now resolved to keep my nails pretty short, and I file them down before they get really long. But I might start growing them back a little bit and just apply nail hardener more frequently than I do right now. I use the Barry M nail hardener, which isn't just a hardener. It also works as a base coat, top coat, a nourishing paint-I believe it has 5 qualities in 1.  I love Barry M polishes though-great quality for a great price. They are also big on effects-crackles, foil effect, matte nails-the list goes on! I am tempted to try the new Rimmel London Nail Rescue range-I have heard great things about it.

Anyway, I'm going to try them out in designs once the tools come through my door. I hope to show you examples of my handy work but right now life is a whirlwind as I am about to move house. Actually, I have someone coming to view my flat in about 2 minutes, so I better sign off.

Weight Loss-My journey so far!

Hi beauties,

Well, I thought I'd do something a little different for this post. With my obsession with beauty related things, I also love fashion, and with that comes things about my figure. I will say, I've never been completely happy with the way I look, but then again, is any woman?

I've been on diets in the past from as early as 14, because even though my parents were very keen on me eating healthily and I used to do a lot of dancing in my youth, once I started Secondary School and the bullies descended, I piled on weight with chocolate, crisps, sweets, biscuits-anything unhealthy! Also, I've always been tall-at 3, I had dreams of being a ballerina but my parents said it wouldn't happen-what a way to dash a young girls dreams! Even at that age, I was destined to be tall! Right now, as a fully grown woman, I'm about 5ft7, so quite tall for a girl! So, at 14, me and my Mum decided together we'd try Slimming World, but I had absolutely no will power! We tried together with my Nannan again, but this group we weren't keen on. Then, at 17, I went back, again with my Mum, to a new group set up by a recent Slimmer, who had gone on to become a consultant. I did really well here, and lost over half a stone. Being a little bit older this time, I could stay on my own for the group sessions and walk home, as it was only a 15 minute walk from my parent's house.  Because, being younger, I had less to lose than others in my group, any success I made was talked of highly, and I felt good. And my friends at college said I looked well, and slimmer-I felt good. But even so, that tailed off eventually.

We'll travel here to the age of 18, and me heading off to university. I'd lost weight through my A-Levels due to the stress... I was now a size 14, when I'd been a 16 for quite a long time-definitely most of the way through college anyway. I went off to University, getting out on my own-and got homesick. I also came down with a flu virus, so I didn't eat. So I dropped another dress size-I was edging on a 12 when I met my now fiancé, and turned 19. I got a beautiful new dress for my birthday-I was finally very happy with the way I looked. But then-it all changed! I went on the contraceptive pill, which instantly messed me up. Also, I was forgetting to take it and had a pregnancy scare-luckily it was a false alarm! But we decided, as a couple, to find a different method, and the depo injection was what we came to. This made me pile on tons of weight-every time it was topped up, more weight would go on.

I wasn't happy about this, but it was better than the alternative, so we kept it going, until I finally said 'enough is enough'. I decided to change up my contraception, and I ended up on the mini-pill, which this time I was much more committed to taking. But the problem still remained of my weight. I was very overweight, I knew this, and a lot of my smaller and prettier clothes I had grown out of. My bra size had changed too, and generally I just didn't feel attractive any more. This probably has tie-ins to my struggle against depression, but I will describe that at a later date(once I feel ready to talk about it).

Anyway, fast forward to 2013. Loads of things happened. The past few years haven't been easy on me, and I have been comfort eating to deal with it-mostly chocolate, as it is clinically proven to lift moods(a lot of women who get stressed by their menstrual cycle are recommended to try a little chocolate due to the fact is does release happy hormones). But I still wasn't happy-still didn't feel attractive. And still was awfully overweight. So, one day, I was at a barbecue at my future in-laws, and was sat talking with my future mother-in-law. We get on really well, and she was looking to shift some weight too. We decided, together, we'd give it a go. Since then, I've been on a diet plan, which I will now describe:

Daily, I generally live on 1,200 calories, but than can fall over or under, depending on the circumstances. If I am eating out, I generally try to make my other meal as low calorie as is possible. Every other day I make my own tea, using either Weight Watchers by Heinz meals(or something similar), and on all the other nights my partner will cook a nutritional meal. Generally, my drinks are water, juice, diet pops and milk-I still need my fluids and milk helps me sleep at night. I am still allowed my treats- a little chocolate once a week, a glass of wine with dinner occasionally! And it worked.

Currently, I am working in pounds, and at last weigh-in(a few hours back), I had lost 16 lbs, which is okay. I put on quite a bit over Christmas with all the excesses, but that is to be expected. I have been working to get this down and am determined to keep dropping. Also, exercise. Currently, I am not doing a lot but again, I am trying to change that.

Now it is starting to get warmer, I am going to try walking. Tying up my Converse nice and tight and getting out there, enjoying the nature. Also, after many recommendations, I made some enquiries and am due to start Zumba on Monday 16th March 2014. It is a local group and the lady I spoke to said they'd be happy to take me. Zumba I've heard is a great form of exercise-really fun but energetic all the same. I hope I find I enjoy this.

Anyway, that is my current weight-loss journey. It is apparently showing, and I've seen the proof-my bigger size jeggings are now too big! So clearly, some progress has been made.

I'll let all you lovelies know how I feel about Zumba once I've given it a go, and I'll keep you updated with any milestones I reach.
